This blog post is one that’s really close to my heart because it speaks of my current walk with God. The Bible says “without faith, it’s impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6) and that got me thinking:
“Am I really pleasing God with my lack of faith?”
About a month ago I put up a Q&A on my Instagram where I asked my followers what is it about their dreams that scares them the most. The answers were interesting, to say the least. Have a look:
As you can see, the common theme to most of these answers is fear of failure.
If one is to recieve from God: they’ve got to believe it! Fear is a result of over-thinking and over-analysing situations which are otherwise trivial but look daunting due to the “fear perspective”.
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5: 7
Contrary to popular belief, our sight can be very deceiving. The way we perceive things is often influenced by other people’s opinions, our cultures and also our history. In the year 1990, if you were to tell someone about the concept of wireless connection like Bluetooth, Infrared and Wi-Fi: they’d probably suggest you go for psychiatric evaluation! That’s because no one had perceived such a phenomenon thus it seemed ridiculous to even suggest it.
My message to you today is that what’s standing in the way between you and your breakthrough is your faith.
What God has for you is way beyond what your physical senses are telling you!
Do you believe? Do you believe that you too can be successful? Do you believe that you can be healed? Do you believe that you can be a change bringer in your family or community?
I am challenging you today to not only start believing God for your breakthrough but also start working your way towards it.
Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
James 2: 17
I want to pray with someone tonight as we’ve entered the month of September. Maybe you’ve allowed fear to steal away some of the dreams and aspirations you used to have about yourself. Maybe you’re reading this and feel like your faith needs activating. I want to tell you that there’s grace for you today.
Let us pray
Dear Lord Jesus.
I come to you today as a child comes to his/her father.
Lord, the enemy has been trying to tamper with my faith using his half-truths and deception.
I am sorry that I’ve been believing his lies and not putting my focus on you.
Lord, please activate my faith throughout this month and beyond: Help me to not fear what the future holds for me.
Thank you Lord for the work you are beginning in me.
In Jesus’s name, Amen.
I hope you’re faith is rejuvenated after reading this blog post and I wish you the most blessed month.
